Tuesday 8th January, 2019-The woman who turned herself into police on Monday after being in hiding for several weeks is now facing charges related to fraud.
Shakeema Charles of St. Johnstons Village was slapped with six charges today.
According to reports, she is charged with 5 counts of conspiracy to forge five bio pages for Antigua and Barbuda passports and another charge of larceny.
She will likely appear in Court on Wednesday.
She is the third person charged in the passport fraud case that made headlines in the country last year.
In December, a warrant signed by a Magistrate was issued for the immediate arrest of Shakema Charles who law enforcement described as “being on the run.”
She turned herself over to police in the company of an attorney yesterday.
