Wednesday 9th January, 2019-The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is making extra classes available to students in two core CSEC subjects that will begin from next week.
Education Officer, Secondary School, Mrs. E. Jonah Greene announced that CSEC English and Mathematics will be taught after school hours at three locations.
The Educational Supplementary Programme’s (ESP) main objective is to provide support for students who will write CXC examinations.
Mathematics classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays each week from 2:30-4:00 p.m, while English classes are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays at the same time.
The education officer is appealing to students to use wisely the opportunity being afforded to them.
Private school students will also be allowed to access the Educational Supplementary Programme.
Meantime, the ministry will also offer classes for Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Classes will convene every Saturday, commencing next week, 9:30-12:30 p.m at the previously mentioned locations.
The Education Officer, Secondary Schools, Mrs. E. Jonah Greene explained that the classes being offered in this particular area are important for students who intend to pursue studies in the United States.
