Tuesday 30th April, 2019-With a vision of making Antigua and Barbuda into an economic powerhouse, Prime Minister Gaston Browne has underscored the importance of entrepreneurs in achieving that objective.
He was speaking at the first in a series of planned interactions between the Government of Antigua and Barbuda and the local business community that was held today at Sandals Grande Antigua, with the aim of the forum being the initiation of a structured dialogue from which a greater common understanding and recommendations for improving the business environment in Antigua and Barbuda will emerge.
Addressing the opening, the prime minister said as the country advances economically, local business men and woman must be among those capitalizing on the development gains of the country.
With increased investments over the past five years, Prime Minister Gaston Browne, who also holds the portfolio of Minister of Finance and Corporate Governance recalled the economy has experienced growth of approximately five percent annually. But he believes there is room for improvement through collaboration with the private sector.
The prime minister told attendees their participation, ideas and comments were important in devising an action plan.
