Monday 1st July, 2019-The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is putting measures in place ahead of plans by the Caribbean Examinations Council to carry out E-Testing from 2020.
CXC believes E-Testing improves quality; it fits into candidates’ skill sets, it enhances the possibilities for disabled candidates accessing the examination and candidates perform better.
Director of Education, Clare Browne says in anticipation of CXC going fully electronic, his ministry is getting ready.
Education officials are also addressing the need for adequate back-up power supply for public schools. This need was felt during the early stages of the May/June CSEC examinations when there was a power outage that caused a setback. With the push towards E-testing, Mr. Browne agrees a continued supply of electricity is paramount.
