Friday 5th July, 2019-The Minister with responsibility for information technology says government is on the verge of retrofitting all public secondary institutions with the latest I.T Technology.
Minister Melford Nicholas told reporters at Thursday’s post-cabinet press briefing that work is expected to be completed in time for the start of the new school year.
The unavailability of internet in schools has been a longstanding issue, but it is about to be given attention.
Once this phase ends, government intends to focus on public primary institutions.
Internet in schools will significantly boost the use of E-Books, which the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology continues to fine tune.
