Thursday 16th June, 2019-Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) says it has received more than 250 applications in response to its Summer Internship Programme.
In a statement, the utilities company outlined in addition to the applications, unregistered applicants are invited to walk in during a planned open day on Friday.
The Summer Internship Programme lasts for six weeks and those involved gain experience in Instrumentation Maintenance Technician (Water), Substation & Protection (Electricity), Generation Operations & Maintenance (Electricity), Feeder Construction & Maintenance (Electricity), Computer Programmer/Developer (Telecoms), Human Resources Management (Head Office), Finance, Accounts & Economics (Head Office), Geographic Information System (GIS) Mapping (PSCS), Civil Engineering (Water) and Customer Service (Head Office).
Friday’s open day commences at 9am and will conclude at 1pm.
Applicants must be enrolled in final year of study at Antigua State College, ABIIT or recent graduate of either institutions, enrolled in, or a recent graduate of University (within 3 years) and must be available for all 6 weeks of the Program.
The APUA Summer Internship Programme (SIP), described as the Caribbean’s most prestigious, is offered by APUA annually during the summer months and prepares participants for the world of work by providing them with experience and soft skills.
